DUNKERLY, Leland

Source: 1940s obituaries collected by Rose Marie Sutherlin provided to kbz via Betty Dotson (one great lady and genealogist – both were and ironically, I have been cleaning my genealogy things out and found this on the day Betty passed – probably had it for years when Rose Marie passed as fairly sure Betty received much of her things and Betty likely already had one of these)

Following an illness of five weeks death came Tuesday at 4 p.m. to Leland Stanford Dunkerly of Cayuga at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis. Mr. Dunkerly was taken to the hospital five weeks ago to undergo a throat operation.  Hemorrhages following the operation were given as the direct cause of death. At his bedside when death came were his wife, Fern and his children, Lila Mildred Louise, Joe and Charles.  Mr Dunkerly was born in Cayuga July 10, 1895 and outside of five years in Virginia during WWI he resided in Cayuga.  His first wife and mother of his four children was Edna Mae Thompson.  Mr. Dunkerly was one of Kingman’s business men, having purchased the Kingman Bowling Alley last December which he owned and operated until the time of his illness
